saturday morning coffee & eggs

Rachel, Jenny, Rebekah and I met up this morning for a long-overdue coffee date, while the boys (all except for Bryan, who is in Bellingham this weekend) enjoyed a french toast feast at Chris & Rebekah's house.

With the sun shining, we piled into Jenny's Volvo, and drove downtown to a small French restaurant recommended by Rachel: Le Pichet.

We all ordered coffee and three of us ordered the eggs. The coffee was wonderful, and the eggs were heavenly, cooked with gruyere cheese and ham.

We talked and talked and talked, about baby sleep schedules and wedding planning...and so on and so on. The conversation is always deep and hilarious and lively and encouraging and wonderful with these sweet gals, my beautiful, inspiring Gough sisters.

We love you, Paula. We are truly blessed to be your daughters, and we were thinking about you today, all of us simply amazed at how you have been navigating this particular season of your life with grace and beauty and incredible strength of spirit. When we speak of you, it is always with love and admiration and gratitude. We are so very thankful for your life, and for the ways you mother us!

We hope you are having a good Saturday, soaking up this beautiful sunshine! We're all looking forward to seeing you soon! With love from your girls, Kristen, Rebekah, Jenny, and Rachel

Oh, thank you for posting this! I could almost taste the coffee! It just awed me to see you all together...to see the daughters that God Himself brought to us...to me...in the midst of all these boys! To see His loving and gracious hand in bringing such godly, rich hearted women into my life in this season. See what sweet things lie ahead for you!?!

And to top such gifts with the loving wives you are to my sons...which is such a comfort and blessing to me..and then to see what beautiful mothers you are to these most absolutely precious grandsons!! I cannot tell you how my heart swelled at the picture of the four of you and yet tears broke at the same time as I cannot believe He has done this for me. Thank you for loving me so sweetly. In His time may God richly, deeply bless you for all these ways you are so blessing me!
