As I've been thinking about you today, I wanted to share with you some photos from our Friday evening trip to the Phinney Farmer's Market.

On Friday afternoon, after talking with Kyle about his grueling day at work, I thought it would be nice if he could come home, say a quick hello to his boys, and then have the house to himself for a bit. Since the weather was so beautiful, I loaded the boys in the stroller and we walked up the hill to the Farmer's Market that takes place every Friday at the Phinney Ridge Community Center.

This was our first time hitting the market this season, and Evan was really excited to go see what it was all about.

It was hustling and bustling when we arrived around 5:30pm. A small tent was set up in the center of the market with musicians, and on a break between songs, kids were invited to try out the instruments... a violin, drums, a flute, a horn. Evan didn't want to play one this time, but he loved watching the musicians and the other kids play!

This neighborhood market, like all farmers' markets, is such a feast for the senses!

We were given many samples to try... Our mutual favorite was this dixie cup of peach-apple granita. Mmmm. So yummy and refreshing on the hot afternoon.

We bought a pound of English peas to shell (Evan loves shelling and eating the sweet little peas from the pod), and have been eating them raw all weekend.

After a couple loops through the market, it was time to head back home for dinnertime with Daddy.

We passed this great yard full of windmills...

And a couple blocks from home, Evan wanted to help push Miles the rest of the way...

One of these Fridays you'll have to come out and join us, both you and Steve! We would love that (and there's a Starbucks across the street, too)!
Sending you all our love this evening,
Kristen and the boys
