Dear Paula,
I keep coming back to look at these particular photos from our family vacation. These shots are among my very favorites from the trip because as I look at them, I see your beautiful mother's heart.
As we sat there together that night I watched you watch your family--three of your four boys playing in the waves together, your husband flying his kite nearby, your grandsons digging in the sand and snuggling in our laps and arms. And as you watched your family--a family full of joy--the sun set over the ocean, and Miles, your youngest grandson, began to drift to sleep in your loving arms, listening to your voice sing a soft lullaby to him about how much you love him and will always love him. It was a moment in our Gough family that I believe I will remember and carry with me always--a beautiful moment, a taste of heaven.
...
When I come here to write these blog posts, I always hope to convey how much I love you, Paula, and how grateful and thankful I am for you. All day yesterday you were on my heart, and I couldn't help but praise God over and over again in prayer for your role in all our lives. I am missing you now that our family vacation is over; I truly love spending time all together as a family, and it feels strange to come home and readjust to a dailiness that involves just Kyle, me, Evan and Miles.
Thank you for filling my heart with encouragement as we spent time over coffee with Rebekah and Jenny talking about our roles as moms (Rachel, we missed you so!). I appreciate your nurturing and counsel so very much. We are hoping to see you soon, and just want you to know again how much we were all blessed by our time with you on the coast.
I love you,
Kristen
