our prayers for you

Evan, who has been a little timid about interacting too much with Miles, told me he wanted to get up on the bed and play with him in the "tunnel" last week. It was such a sweet moment for me, to watch them lay side by side and play.

Dear Paula,

We are holding you up in our constant prayers as you prepare for surgery tomorrow.

May God cover you in His strength and His peace.

May you feel the comfort of His great love and provision for you.

May you see Christ abiding with you in all of the details.

~~~
Dear God, prepare the surgeon and the surgical assistants today and tomorrow for Paula's surgery, giving them all that they need to perform at their very best, with skill and wisdom and care. We pray that the doctors would find cancer in less than four of the lymph nodes where they are focusing their attention. And we continue to pray that this cancer would be fully eliminated from our mother's body.
God, be with Paula, and with Steve, too, in a very present way as they make the transition home, encouraging their spirits as Paula rests and recovers. We pray that Paula's recovery period would be smooth-going, without any complications.  May her healing be quick and complete.
~~~

As we pray these things for you, Paula, we know that you know that you are in God's loving hands. He knows what is ahead of you, and will not give you more than you can handle.

And we want you to know again that we are all here for you, whatever you need. It is a privilege for us to walk through this with you, and we want to lift you up, not only with our prayers for you, but also with our hands, in practical ways. We love you so much; you are so very, very dear to us all!  Know we are covering you in prayer today and tomorrow, and the days beyond, as well!

Love, Kyle, Kristen, Evan & Miles

Kristen, what a sweet, comforting message to me. Your prayer made me cry and your kind words are a healing oil on my soul. Thank you for such an encouraging and so very loving letter to me...and to Steve. I do absolutely trust the Lord with this all and am confident (as much as we should be without in any way demanding an outcome) of His healing through this process. I know I will learn much... It is a deep blessing to be part of His family...and to be part of ours. You and Kyle and dear little Evan (and Miles, in his own little way)have made this grandma feel very loved...and that takes one miles down a hard road just in and of itself. I love you...and am very sweetly blessed by you!!
Love, Mom
