Today I've been having fun formating my photos this way--side by side, like pages in a book. I've been imagining with these two photographs in particular--if our family's life were a story of pictures bound together in a book, what special significance would these two pictures hold? What part of our family's story would they tell?

Just look at Miles and Levi, these two "younger brothers"--how sweet and handsome and full of life they are! They will no doubt be friends for life, and perhaps they will understand each other in a special way, both being second-born sons. It is such a joy to my heart to see
all our little Gough boys together; how precious and adorable they are!

As I think about our Gough family, I am thankful that we all live so close to one another. What an incredible blessing it is to share life with one another weekly, daily even! On Saturday when Jenny, Rebekah, Rachel, and I went to breakfast, we spent some time reminiscing about our weddings as we talked with Rachel about her upcoming wedding. Rebekah and Jenny both remembered details from my wedding that were so unique and special, and it struck me deeply (again) that being family with these three girls is one of my life's richest blessings. I love that we all bear witness to each other's significant moments, and share in each other's celebrations and trials.

In this way we can (and do!) help to strengthen and uplift one another, and embody the grace and love of Jesus Christ. I learn so much from every single person in our family, the little ones included. And all I can say is what an amazing way to grow into the woman God has made me to be; truly!

Paula, I am so blessed that you are one of the main characters in my personal life-story, and it is an honor to play a role, however large or small, in yours. I thank God every day for bringing me into your family!

With love, Kristen

And I thank Him for bringing YOU into mine!! What sweet pictures these are of these 2 precious boys! Adventures ahead, for sure...for them...and us!!

I love your thoughts on family here, Kristen. It is, I think, most unusual in this day and age to have so much family so close and to already have been such a part of these life markers with one another! Yes, over the years...even in each day...we will learn so much from each other...and in it all bearing more and more with the passing of life...the family resemblance of Christ Himself. Oh, this thrills my heart...humbles my heart...and fills my soul with joy.

Thank you for your sweet visit last night! We love you all so dearly. It was so good to see you...and hold the boys!!
