Dear Paula,
It is Friday morning--one of my favorite parts of the week. This morning we woke up before Miles, and before Evan, too. It wasn't long though before both boys began stirring. We were still warm and cozy under the covers when Evan began calling to us from downstairs (I say "us", but really, Evan was calling out "Daddy!! Daddy! Get down!"). We decided it was a perfect morning to bundle up the boys and go to Starbucks for breakfast (and use the rest of the gift card you gave us for Valentine's Day)!
Evan was full of smiles and excitement at the proposition. We all got dressed quickly, and made our way up the hill. It is so nice to live just down the hill from a few of our favorite coffee houses. We enjoyed a fun and simple breakfast together, and then I drove home with Miles, while Kyle and Evan walked home.
They arrived at the house not long after Miles and me, rosy-cheeked and runny-nosed. And happy. Kyle told me Evan had decided half-way down the hill that it was too cold to walk, so Kyle picked him up and snuggled him warmly against his chest the rest of the way home.
Warming up in our livingroom, Kyle and I spent a few moments talking about how much we're looking forward to summer...to the boys being just a little bit older, to walks around the neighborhood, and trips to the park and Greenlake. With these boys, there's always so much to look forward to... and also to enjoy in the present.
We love you so much, Paula! And we hope you have a wonderful, restful Friday. I wish I could come over, make some popcorn and watch "Little Women" or "Anne of Green Gables" with you today... One of these days, we will have to plan a cozy girls movie day, and spend the day in your livingroom, wearing our pj's, with the fire blazing and warm cups of coffee in our hands. Doesn't that sound nice? xoxo, Kristen

Oh, how I love all three of those 'boys'!!! My, Kristen, what blessings God has given you in them....and to them...in you!!
How funny that Evan calls Kyle to "get down". That just cracked us up!!
Thanks for sharing your morning with me. I loved the details for the rosy cheeks and runny noses...and oh, so happy! What a wonderful home you are making for your family!!
Your popcorn idea stuck in my head...and even though we had a very wonderful dinner brought by friends...I just had to have some popcorn to finish off the day. Then I realized it was your blog comment that planted that seed in my head!! I enjoyed every bite!
The movie idea (for a rainy day) sounds wonderful!
Thank you so much for sharing!! I love every detail!
Love, Paula...with lots of grandma love to Evan and Miles!
