Hi Paula! It has been so nice to see you so much these past couple weeks; we are missing you as we spend the day at home today. Right now Evan is taking an afternoon nap, and I'm upstairs with Miles, windows open, sunlight and soft breezes coming through them. Miles is kicking me with his chubby baby legs while I type, trying to settle himself down for a nap next to me on our big bed. From where I sit I can see sunshine sparkling through the leaves of the trees next to our house, and I can hear birds singing and chattering sweetly to one another.

Earlier today, while both boys were awake, we went out on the back deck to enjoy the sunshine. Yesterday Kyle child-proofed our deck by adding new cedar boards in a horizontal pattern across all of the railings. I love how it looks, but more importantly, I am thrilled to be able to spend time on our deck now, without worrying so much about our boys' safety.

I'm hoping to get some flowers sometime soon for those flower boxes there behind Miles. Not sure when it will happen, but I am definitely more motivated now that the deck has been made safe. These weeds and dead flowers are such an eyesore at the moment!

Evan and Grover both love looking down to the sidewalk below for passersby to say hello to in their own ways. Today we had two very nice visits: one with an elderly lady, Alice, who walks by our house often with her little dog (Evan showed her his trick airplane from Emerson), and another with our neighbor Suzanna. (Evan started yelling across the street: "Zanna!! Zanna!!" as soon as she pulled up in her car. His friendly enthusiasm is so sweet to watch.)

Also, things are beginning to bloom in our backyard, most notably our wedding plum tree! I'm hoping for lots of plums this year; it'll be fun to see what we end up with. Kyle will prune the plum tree next month, as is recommended for our particular variety.

I hope you are having a good day today, Paula. I am looking forward to hearing more about how your first physical therapy appointment went this week.

And I just have to say, too, how much I loved reading the post below, from Rebekah. We all love you so much, Paula.

Well, Miles has just drifted off to sleep, and I'm thinking I will try to squeeze in a little nap myself before the boys wake up ready to go go go again! Talk to you soon,

Love, Kristen
