This morning while Rebekah spent time preparing her home for our Thanksgiving festivities there tomorrow, I got to spend time with Simon and Levi! We had the best morning together. I love my three nephews so much, and even though things can get a little crazy when all the cousins get together, I so enjoy their energy, antics, and contagious childlike wonder and happiness. Our morning was made complete when Wesley and Jenny came over to join the fun.
Shortly after Simon and Levi's arrival we got ready for our special outing...

...a walk in the glorious fall sunshine, up the hill to Starbucks, for chocolate milk, an old-fashioned donut (to share 3 ways), and a peppermint mocha (for the lady in charge of this wonderful brood of boys).

These boys were superstars at the coffeeshop! After sitting for a bit, we went on our way, and took a long walk through the Phinney Ridge business district. We ooh-ed and aahh-ed over Christmas decorations, and pointed out fun things to each other along the way...
In front of the Hardware store we were met with a truly wonderful surprise: real live parrots!
The boys didn't know what to think at first...I don't think they realized what they were looking at. Then one of the parrots screeched, and the boys were riveted!
What amazing birds to see up so close! Their owner was very friendly, and loved showing the boys her pets.
We kept walking, and took an alley back down the hill towards home, and I soaked in the incredible view of the Cascades, while listening to three boys laugh, and one baby boy on my back hum and babble.
We were all having such a fun time, we decided to take a detour to the neighborhood park and p-patch before heading home.
Three older boys were there playing catch, and Simon, Levi, and Evan loved watching them play.
But, soon enough they found their own play, climbing on big rocks...
playing follow-the-leader on the path...
and then: football! The big boys were kind enough to share their ball, and Simon, Levi, and Evan tossed it around for awhile.
Turkey-bowlers in the making...
...Then it was back in the stroller for the quick trip home, with bright leaves in hand!
It was such a treat for me to be out with these boys, enjoying a beautiful morning.
After getting home, we had a snack, rested and watched a movie for a little while.
After about fifteen minutes, the boys were ready to play again, so upstairs to the playroom we went!
The boys played "nighttime and bedtime"...
...and then Wesley arrived!
What a perfect way to spend our day today. I can't wait to continue the family fun tomorrow!
